Guide
Which body analysis scale is right for you?
A body analysis scale measures your weight and uses bioelectrical impedance analysis to also estimate body fat, body water, muscle and bone mass; in addition, it calculates your BMI and calorie requirement (BMR). ADE body analysis scales store profiles for several people and automatically recognize who is weighing. Depending on the model, they carry 180 to 200 kg and have a glass weighing surface. The analysis values are best suited to tracking changes over a longer period of time.

For the whole family
Ines stores up to 10 users and automatically recognizes who is weighing. In addition to weight, BMI and BMR, it provides estimated values for body fat, water, muscle and bone mass. Test winner at Stiftung Warentest (issue 10/2024, body fat scales, grade "good" 2.0).

All values at a glance
Emmy shows all values at the same time on a large color display – without an app or smartphone: weight, body fat, water percentage, muscle and bone mass, BMI, calorie requirement and biological age. It automatically recognizes up to 8 people.

For up to 12 people
Tamina stores profiles for up to 12 people and automatically recognizes who is weighing. It holds up to 180 kg, weighs in 100 g increments and has a glass weighing platform.
How does a body analysis scale measure body fat and muscle mass?
Through the weighing platform, the scale sends a weak measuring current through your body (bioelectrical impedance analysis). From the measured resistance and your saved details on height, age and gender, it calculates estimates for body fat, body water, muscle mass and bone mass. For this, you step onto the scale barefoot.
How accurate are body analysis scales?
The scale measures your body weight directly – in 100 g increments on the Ines and the Tamina, and in 50 g increments on the Emmy. Body fat, water, muscle mass and bone mass, on the other hand, are calculated estimates that fluctuate depending on factors such as fluid intake, time of day or exercise. They are therefore best suited as trend values over several weeks and do not replace a medical examination.
When should I weigh myself?
Ideally always at the same time and under the same conditions – for example in the morning after getting up, before breakfast and without clothes. Place the scale on a firm, level floor rather than on carpet. This makes your values easier to compare.
Can the whole family use one scale?
Yes. The Tamina stores profiles for up to 12 people, the Ines for up to 10 and the Emmy for up to 8. When you step on, the scale knows who is weighing. A simple weight measurement is also possible, for example for guests.
Do I need an app or a smartphone?
No. The Emmy shows all values directly on its display – without an app, smartphone or registration. On the Ines, too, you read your values directly on the scale's display.
